About The Scriptorium
In the monasteries of the early church, the scriptorium was the room where the Word was copied by hand — carefully, faithfully, so that what was received could be passed on without loss. This site carries that work forward in a new medium. The Scriptorium is a free public archive of the physical evidence of the Christian faith: the manuscripts, inscriptions, maps, icons, and witnesses that span 4,000 years from the patriarchs to the present.
We don't just believe it. We can show you the evidence. Every artifact in these galleries is documented — dated, located, sourced, and photographed from public-domain and museum open-access collections. Every doctrinal position is grounded in Scripture and labeled by its source: TEXT, INFERENCE, or TRADITION. Where scholarship is contested, we say so plainly rather than overclaim. The archive is built for the Bible student, the skeptic, the pastor, and the historian alike — free, public, and open to all. You don't have to share our faith to weigh the evidence — every artifact is documented so you can judge it for yourself.

Who Builds This
The Scriptorium is a work of Gospel Life Ministries, curated under Pastor Charles W. Aycock Jr. The doctrinal voice throughout the archive is GLM's own — developed through exegetical study, confirmed where possible by archaeology, manuscript evidence, and church history — while the galleries themselves are built to serve every tradition that names Jesus Christ as Lord.
The archive is free and carries no advertising. If it serves your study and you want to help it grow, you can support the work here.
